Friends Through Christ
I am writing this testimony to tell everyone of my thankfulness to them for
allowing God to work through them. My name is Aubrey Hake and I was first
introduced to the Restoration and the people in it at the RCI camp in 1996
with the Pickerings and the Whites. After the end of that camp and through the
people I met there I wanted to go back the next year. It was that way every
year. Now I have graduated high school and I'd still love to go back but the
Lord is calling me (well Im going to go to the Older Youth camp...so I need
info please!) to do other things. I used to be Catholic. Rarely did I find the
willingness to accept me there as I did with all of you. To the counselors and
adults involved...thank you for letting God to work through you and doing
everything you did. I still look up to many of you. Your work is not in
vain...it touched me and I cannot begin to express the things God has taught
me through all of you. Never give up. Keep doing what God wants even though
you think that no one is paying attention. When I was first learning about God
I wouldn't have dared to say a thing(I was very shy). Ok, to all my friends I
have made and even to those who I met once or twice as well as those of you I
do not know at all, your love for the Lord and even just being at camp was such
a strength to me. It wasnt just camp. Thank you for being my friends...my
friendships with all of you is what pulled me in the right direction. The
friendships all of you have at church(and having to do with church) are so
important. You will find that most of the time those are the people who will
be there for you no matter what. Whatever you do, never take God out of the
picture. Don't push Him away, go to Him for advice, for everything. Most
importantly, never give up trying to do God's will. Thank you all...for
letting God to work through you, even if you may not have known it.
I just can't thank God enough for all of you. You all have a special place in
my heart...and I pray for you. I've found that I can't do everything alone. I
have to depend on my friends in Christ to help me, and they depend on me, and
we all depend on God! Now, as I am in college, I'm making many new friends, in
the church and not. No matter what I will be there for them. Like all of you
were there for me. My friends in Christ, I find to be of the greatest
value(even though all are valuable). I try not to go long without speaking
with them. I thought that it was time I said this. I hope that all of you
will find Christ in your lives and will go and share Him with others, as many
of you have done already.
Love in Christ,
Aubrey
